Where can I find a local Danish Design showroom?
We currently have a showroom located in Mission Viejo, CA. Our showroom is designed to give you a sample of the quality and style of Scandinavian modern furniture, rather than an extensive look at all that we offer. We have approximately 20 manufacturers represented on our showroom floor, however we can source furniture for you from over 100 different manufacturers in seven different countries. If you are in the area, please stop by and we will be delighted to go through our catalogs with you to help you find the Scandinavian style furniture you have been looking for.
How can I request a catalog?
In an effort to keep our costs, (and your prices) as low as possible, we do not print a full paper catalog. In lieu of a paper catalog we have an extensive selection of our products available for viewing on our website. Currently we show over 3,500 items online which is approximately 50% of our available merchandise. We make every effort to update the site monthly in order to keep the online catalog up to date.
How can I receive a factory brochure?
Due to fairly rapid changes in styles, fabrics and finishes, most manufacturers do not offer tear sheets or brochures. However, if there is an item you are interested in that is not yet shown on our site, we may be able to email a photo to you for your consideration. We currently show about 50% of our manufacturer's merchandise on the website. What are the different leather and fabric groups?
Fabric and leather groups are determined by each manufacturer and are based on the different fabric or leather styles and colors the manufacturer will carry. Many manufacturers will allow you to order their products COM (customer's own material). We will provide you with the necessary information if you opt to utilize your own fabric or leather, such as amount of material needed and addresses to send the material to. Please keep in mind that there is normally an additional freight and handling surcharge for COM orders.
Can I get fabric swatches?
We are happy to send you fabric or leather samples with a deposit. This deposit can be applied toward your furniture purchase or simply refunded when the samples are returned.
What is the "online shopping" portion of the website?
This area of the website allows you to make online purchases of limited fabric/leather and wood combinations of select items we offer. To view our full range of nearly unlimited custom combinations please visit our main search catalog.
What is the difference between "My Shopping Cart" and "My Watch List" on the website?
Items you are considering/selecting for immediate online purchase and delivery will be placed in "My Shopping Cart". You can only place items from the "Online Shopping" portion of the website into "My Shopping Cart". All other items you are considering will go into "My Watch List". Items you place in "My Watch List" are saved to facilitate telephone and email ordering.
How can I place my order?
You can telephone, email, or place your order online through the "Shop Online" portion of our website. Please note that only certain products are available for online purchases. Please visit the "Shop Online" portion of our website to see which items can be ordered this way. All other purchases need to be placed either by email or telephone during our normal business hours of Monday-Saturday 10-5pm PST. If you contact us after hours, please leave a message and your call will be returned the following business day.
What methods of payment do you accept?
We currently accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, money orders, or checks. Credit card or check orders require a 50% deposit at the time the order is placed, with the balance due upon notification for pick-up or delivery. All orders placed through the "Shop Online" portion of the website must be paid in full at checkout by Visa, MasterCard or Discover only.
Does Danish Design charge sales tax?
Currently, we only charge sales tax within California (7.75% Orange County). Unless or until Congress changes the law on Internet sales, this could amount to substantial savings for out of state orders. Your local or state laws may vary on "use tax" when you buy something that's shipped to you from "out of state". We trust you to handle this issue as you see fit.
Do you ever have sales?
Danish Design has a simple philosophy about pricing that reflects our desire for integrity and honesty in business. Instead of making up fictitious inflated retail prices and then offering 30% or 40% off, we take a fair and reasonable mark-up from the actual cost from the factory. That's why you will rarely see a "Sale" sign in our window. Because we are a factory direct importer, our prices fluctuate with the value of the dollar. We usually evaluate our prices once a month.
What does shipping cost?
Shipping charges are in addition to the cost of the merchandise. We believe the best way to price our items, is to offer you the best price possible on the furniture, and charge for shipping separately. This way you know exactly what you are paying for the merchandise and what you are paying for shipping. Shipping costs are determined by several factors including weight of the shipment and how the furniture is assembled and packaged. Please contact our customer service department if you would like additional information or quotes for shipping specific items. What is your delivery policy?
We are able to ship your furniture to you anywhere within the continental United States, as well as Hawaii, Alaska and Canada. We primarily utilize two methods of delivery based on the size, weight and packaging of your merchandise. Some items are shipped by UPS while others require shipment by our regular "in home" delivery service.
What happens after I place an order?
After you place your order by phone, email or through the "Online Shopping" area, your order will be processed with the various manufacturers. You can expect to receive a copy of your invoice by mail within seven to ten business days. "Online Shopping" orders will receive an email receipt. Please check your invoice for accuracy and report any discrepancies to us immediately. If you have any questions regarding your order, please do not hesitate to contact us.
When can I expect my order?
The delivery of your items varies by manufacturer. This time frame can be anywhere from 1-2 weeks to 3-4 months. Under the description of each item on the website is the Delivery timeframe for that particular item. Does Danish Design have a return policy?
No, we do not. Danish Design is a special order house, and most orders rely on overseas supply. Because we do not inventory any merchandise, we cannot accept any returns.
What if my furniture arrives damaged?
We make every effort to protect your furniture during delivery. This usually entails building a wooden crate around your merchandise to protect it if necessary. Although, we take extra effort to protect your furniture accidents, though rare, do occur. When they do, we will do everything within reason to rectify the problem for you. We utilize a network of experienced service professionals dedicated to diagnosing and repairing fine furniture to remedy any problems that may arise during delivery. If the item cannot be repaired, we will order up a replacement for you. You can order with confidence knowing that we stand behind our products and that our ultimate goal is your complete satisfaction of the merchandise you purchase from us.
What is your warranty policy?
All of our products come with a full manufacturers warranty, which vary in length from one year to lifetime. Specifics on getting warranty service will depend on the item, the nature of the problem, the manufacturer and your location. Please contact us for more information.
What happens if I cancel my order?
Please note there are no cancellations for orders placed through our "online shopping" site. Please be sure the items you are ordering are correct, as we cannot accept any cancellations for orders placed by this method of purchase.
For all other purchases, once your order is placed, if you decide to cancel AND we are able to cancel the order with the factory before your furniture is "in production" there will be no charge. Keep in mind that the production process typically begins within 2-3 days at most factories. If your order is not cancelled before production begins, the factory requires that we take delivery of the product. Therefore, if you cancel your order after production has started, you will be responsible for a 50% restocking charge as well as shipping charges to our physical location in Mission Viejo, California. This amount will be deducted from your refund.
How do your prices compare to everyone else?
We believe we offer the widest selection at the best pricing for high quality Scandinavian home and office furniture. If you find a lower price on the same item anywhere else, please give us the opportunity to provide a competitive quote. We ask you to keep in mind that a competitive overall price will include not only furniture pricing, but also shipping, handling, and sales tax.
